Outward journey with suitable stops en route.
The beautiful market town of Dorchester is steeped in history and culture and is a fascinating place to visit. We spend the morning here, before continuing to Kingston Lacy, built to resemble an astonishing Italian palace in the heart of rural Dorset. Here you will discover an internationally acclaimed art collection, exquisite carvings and lavish interiors, and outside sweeping lawns, a Japanese garden, kitchen garden and woodland walks.
We journey to Bridport, a lively and vibrant town with a tremendous reputation for arts and culture, and where we take a short break. We continue along the coast via West Bay, a fishing village on the Jurassic Coast, recently enjoying a surge of popularity whilst playing host to TV’s drama Broadchurch, and reach the picture postcard village of Abbotsbury for our visit the Sub-tropical Gardens. This magnificent 30 acre garden is filled with rare and exotic plants, and from the viewpoint at the top of the Magnolia Walk you are treated to stunning views of the Jurassic Coast. In the afternoon we visit The Tank Museum, the World’s best collection of armoured fighting vehicles and tanks in eight powerful exhibitions.
We end our tour with a leisurely journey home, making suitable stops along the way.
