Today we take a scenic drive over the South Downs to the beautiful city of Winchester with free time to explore. There are plenty of historic buildings and tranquil gardens to admire, and be sure to pay a visit to Winchester Cathedral, a place of worship for over 900 years and famous for its hidden treasures.
An excursion to the historic city of Chichester where today is market day. You may wish to explore the cathedral with its ancient city walls, the Pallent House Gallery or simply explore the fascinating shops on offer, before we continue onwards to Arundel where the gothic Cathedral dominates the skyline. Arundel’s Georgian and Victorian town centre is famous for antique shops and contemporary art galleries making shopping a real pleasure.
We have the morning at leisure, and an afternoon visit to Brighton where you can perhaps visit Brighton Pavilion, the spectacular seaside palace of the Prince Regent, George IV (admission not included), or The Lanes, with its interesting little shops in which to browse.
After breakfast we depart our hotel for the homeward journey, making suitable stops en route.
