This is a charming privately owned Georgian country house hotel set in mature gardens, and surrounded by rolling fields in an area of outstanding natural beauty.   Facilities include: Award winning restaurant; swimming pool & spa; and free Wi-Fi. Bedrooms have bath and shower, as well as complimentary toiletries. There is no lift, however most of the rooms are on the ground floor

Holiday Itinerary

MONDAY

Outward journey with suitable stops en route, arriving at our hotel in comfortable time to relax before dinner.

TUESDAY

This morning we visit Rye, once surrounded by the sea this fortified hilltop town no longer harbours warships, and is instead home to the local fishing fleet.  Here you will have time to explore the cobbled lanes lined with fine medieval houses, and enjoy views of Romney Marsh from this vibrant market town.  On in the afternoon to visit Bateman’s, Rudyard Kipling’s personal paradise. Surrounded by the wooded landscape of the Sussex Weald, this 17th century house, and pretty secluded gardens provide a tranquil sanctuary.

WEDNESDAY

To Dungeness this morning for a totally unique ride on Kent’s mainline in miniature, the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway, to the port town of Hythe. From here we continue to Tenterden, known as the “Jewel of the Weald” and one of the most charming towns in the South East, with its unique mix of fascinating history and heritage. Later we make our way to the Chapel Down Winery for a tour and tasting.

THURSDAY

Today we take the coastal route to visit Ramsgate with its picturesque marina, and the traditional seaside town of Margate with its café culture and tempting shops. 

FRIDAY

Departing after breakfast we take a leisurely drive home, making suitable stops en route.
