A family run hotel which has been welcoming visitors since 1862. It offers a high level of comfort and style, and also reflects its heritage with impressive paintings and architecture. Situated on the promenade it is perfect for those wishing to enjoy a stroll and enjoy the striking views. Facilities include: Pub style bar; two lounges; and private dining room for groups. There is a lift, however some rooms are accessed by a few steps. Porterage is included.
We journey to the far south west corner of England and the delightful town of Penzance. Enjoy tea/coffee whilst your luggage is taken to your room.
We make our way to Trengwainton Garden. With 25 magnificent acres bursting with exotic trees and shrubs there is plenty to see, from the lovingly restored organic walled kitchen garden to the wide open views across Mount’s Bay. This afternoon we take a scenic drive across to the north Cornish coast to the pretty resort of St Ives. Time to visit the famous Tate Gallery and the Barbara Hepworth Sculpture Museum (admissions not included) or find a comfortable spot to watch the world go by in the picturesque harbour.
Today we head for the far western shores of the mainland to Land’s End, one of Britain’s favourite destinations. Admire the spectacular scenery and awe inspiring cliff views to Longships and Wolf Rock lighthouses and the Isles of Scilly. We return to Penzance for the remainder of the day at leisure.
After breakfast our destination is the attractive resort and fishing town of Falmouth. You may wish to visit to the National Maritime Museum, which gives a fascinating insight into the maritime traditions of Falmouth and beyond (cost not included) or simply enjoy time at leisure to explore Falmouth, with its enchanting combination of picturesque, narrow streets and bustling harbour. On our return journey we take a break in Marazion to enjoy views of St Michael’s Mount.
We say farewell to Penzance and begin our homeward journey.
