We travel south with suitable stops en route, and board a late afternoon ferry for the short crossing to the Isle of Wight.
A day at leisure to explore Sandown. Sheltered in a beautiful bay, and famed for its long stretch of golden beach and traditional promenade and pier, you’ll find plenty to occupy your leisure time.
An afternoon to Mottistone Manor Garden, an enchanting five acre garden, full of surprises and set in a sheltered south facing valley.
In the morning we make our way to view the iconic Needles Rocks, before our visit to Yarmouth, where you will have plenty of time to enjoy the town with its picturesque harbour. On our return journey we take a break at Calbourne Water Mill and Museum. You can discover a working water mill, dating from the Doomsday Book, set in peaceful countryside.
We include a return trip on the charming Isle of Wight Steam Railway from Havenstreet. A nostalgic journey with locomotives and carriages beautifully restored to pristine condition by a team of dedicated volunteers. There will be time to browse the museum and shop, before continuing to Ryde, with time to explore. We call at the Rosemary Vineyard, before returning to Sandown via Brading.
A day at leisure with the opportunity for those who wish to visit Osborne House, Queen Victoria’s seaside residence (Admission not included).
