The hotel overlooks the River Wick and is only a few minutes’ walk from the town centre. There is no lift, however there are plenty of ground floor rooms. Please request when booking

This 17th century hotel is centrally located within the town’s main shopping area and provides a welcoming atmosphere, good food and comfortable accommodation.


Travellers should give consideration to the fact that they will be in beautiful yet often isolated locations where hotel availability is extremely limited. Hotels are varied in style and standard. All have restaurant, bar & lounge, and all except the Norseman have a lift. Porterage is included at the Norseman and the Salutation.

Holiday Itinerary



We travel north for dinner, bed and breakfast at the Erskine Bridge Hotel, Erskine



 Our journey continues north via Blairgowrie and the spectacular Cairnwell Pass to Braemar. A wonderfully scenic route continues via Tomintoul and Grantown on Spey, before passing Inverness and continuing to Wick



We visit her Majesty The Queen Mother’s beloved Castle of Mey which has been kept just as it was when she was alive. Explore the gardens and enjoy the views over the Pentland Firth. The remainder of the day is at leisure in Wick



 We board the ferry from John O’Groats to Orkney where a local coach meets our group for an excursion to include highlights such as Skara Brae, the Churchill Barriers, Scapa Flow, Ring of Brodgar, the Italian Chapel and Kirkwall’s magnificent cathedral (admissions not included)



We travel back through Scotland with a stop in the highland capital of Inverness and onwards to Perth for two nights’ accommodation at the Salutation Hotel



A day at leisure in Perth. See the striking St John’s Kirk, or perhaps visit Perth Black Watch Museum housed in the dramatic and historic Balhousie Castle. Garden lovers will enjoy the National Trust owned Branklyn Gardens (admissions not included)



We commence our homeward journey, with suitable stops along the way
