Holiday Itinerary

Itinerary

MONDAY

We travel north to Heysham and board the afternoon ferry to Douglas, crossing time approximately 3½ hours, arriving in time for dinner

TUESDAY

A day exploring the south of the Island, with a visit to the picturesque Cregneash Folk Museum where you’ll find a living, working illustration of life in a typical 19th century Manx upland crofting community. From here we continue to The Sound, at the very southern tip of the island, to enjoy the spectacular views over the Calf of Man. We include a visit to Castletown on the return journey

WEDNESDAY

We visit Laxey Village, home of the world’s largest water wheel (admission not included). The viewing platform over the Wheel is very popular with the more daring, and others may enjoy the tranquillity of the glen, where the remains of one of the British Isles greatest lead mines can be seen. On then to Ramsey, the capital of the north, with its impressive harbour still in daily use

THURSDAY

A half day excursion to Peel on the west coast, where the magnificent ruins of Peel Castle dominate the landscape. There will also be time, if you wish, for a journey on the steam railway back to Douglas (Cost not included)

FRIDAY

We depart after an early breakfast to board the return ferry to Heysham, and continue our homeward journey
