Today we head to the steam driven Falkirk Wheel, and enjoy a unique ride on the world’s first and only rotating boat lift. During the afternoon we continue to Edinburgh for time at leisure.
An early departure for our sailing on the Waverley Paddle Steamer, the last seagoing paddle steamer in the world. We sail from Glasgow to Dunoon on this magnificently restored vessel with towering funnels, timber decks, gleaming brass and mighty engines, which will be sure to provide a whiff of nostalgia. Our coach will be waiting in Dunoon to transfer back to the hotel.
Another full day today as we enjoy a spectacular return journey, from Fort William to Malliag, on the famous Jacobite Steam Train. Described as “the greatest railway journey in the world” this 84 mile round trip takes you on a journey of extremes, from its start near the highest mountain in Britain, Ben Nevis, to the deepest seawater Loch in Europe, Loch Nevis.
We bid a fond farewell to Scotland and commence our homeward journey, making suitable stops en route.
