Outward journey to Bolton for our visit to the Fred Dibnah Heritage Centre. You will be given a private tour of the grounds and machinery collected by Fred over his working life, and have time to take in the atmosphere of this amazing piece of English heritage which has been lovingly restored (we recommend you wear sensible footwear). After our visit a short transfer to the Olympus Restaurant for our fish and chip lunch with tea/coffee included. After lunch we take a trip onthe East Lancs Railway from Bolton to Rawtenstall, before continuing to our hotel for dinner and overnight accommodation
After breakfast we make our way to Manchester and the Museum of Science and Industry. Experience the sights and sounds of the cotton mills in the Textiles Gallery, marvel at one of the world’s largest collections of working steam engines in the Power Hall, and take a trip down memory lane to visit the recreated living rooms of the 1930’s and 1950’s. After our visit we begin our return journey.
