We visit Padstow, one of Cornwall’s oldest harbour towns, with its gift shops and the harbour with fishing boats and crab sheds. In the afternoon we visit the delightful Cornish village of Boscastle with its tea rooms, natural harbour and craft shops.
We visit the harbour village of Charlestown, home port to a famous collection of old ships which are employed in film projects all over the world. Late morning we drive to Lanhydrock, a magnificent late Victorian country house, and home to the Agar-Roberts family. This delightful house appears as if the family have just popped out for tea, and there are more than 50 rooms to explore as well as extensive gardens, delightful woodland and riverside walks.
A day at leisure. You might choose to take the local bus to the capital city of Truro, where centre stage is the beautiful cathedral surrounded by a maze of intriguing side streets, or simply relax and enjoy Newquay.
We begin with an opportunity to cruise on the River Fal from Truro to St Mawes (boat fare not included), or you may prefer to stay on the coach to St Mawes on the Roseland Peninsula. We then travel through unique countryside to the harbour village of Mevagissey with its colourful fishing boats, and where you might like to try a fresh crab sandwich.
We depart after breakfast to commence our homeward journey.
