SATURDAY Outward journey to Beamish, the Living Museum of the North. Experience the magic of a traditional Christmas, with celebrations at the Town, Pit Village, Pockerley Old Hall and the Farm. Late afternoon we make the short transfer to our hotel, for dinner and overnight accommodation.
SUNDAY We make our way to Durham for our visit to its award winning annual Christmas Festival, where you’ll find a wide range of festive entertainment in and around the World Heritage Site of the Cathedral and the Castle. The huge, heated Craft and Gift Marquee on Palace Green features over 190 stalls, (admission not included, and costs approximately £4 per person). In the Cathedral Cloisters, a local food producers market featuring another 30 traders will operate, and in the Cathedral itself, “Carols for All” services take place at 1100 hours and 1400 hours. We are also able to take advantage of all the famous High Street names in the Prince Bishops development, to make our day of Christmas shopping complete. We depart at 1530 hours to commence our homeward journey.
