Four nights dinner, bed & breakfast with choice of menu and tea/coffee after dinner
Situated on the green within the pretty village of Drymen on the east side of Loch Lomond. This former coaching inn has been lovingly
restored and tastefully extended to its present day form, and offers a friendly, welcoming service. Facilities include: Charming Merlin
restaurant with exposed brickwork and original beams, cosy Ptarmigan Bar & Lounge serving fine ales and whiskies, entertainment on at least two nights. There is no lift, however there are plenty of ground floor rooms available on request.
We journey north, with suitable stops en route, and arrive in Drymen during the afternoon, with time to settle in before dinner.
We sail on board the Maid of the Forth to Inchcolm Island in the Firth of Forth. The abundance of wildlife is amazing on this breathtakingly beautiful island, and there will be time to explore the Abbey and its grounds as well as the
islands fortifications and beaches.
Today we board the Calmac Ferry to the wonderful Isle of Arran, in the Firth of Clyde, and one of the most southerly Scottish islands. On our tour of the island you’ll see ever changing coastline, dramatic peaks and verdant forest. We visit Brodick Castle, a quintessential Victorian Highland Estate, packed full of treasures and with a backdrop of mountain peaks, terraced lawns and luxuriant gardens.
We head to Balloch for a two hour cruise exploring the secret islands and narrows of Loch Lomond. Our cruise takes us past Cameron House Hotel and the world renowned Loch Lomond Golf Course, continuing onwards through the narrows to the magnificent Ben Lomond and the historic village of Luss, before returning along the west shore to Balloch.
We bid farewell to Scotland and commence our homeward journey, making suitable stops en route.
