Holiday Itinerary


An early start as we travel to Holyhead for an afternoon ferry to Dublin, and our overnight accommodation at the Talbot Hotel, Stillorgan.

We travel north to visit Strokestown Park. Time to explore this beautiful 18th century Palladian mansion, famine museum and restored pleasure gardens, before continuing to Castlebar for two nights accommodation.

This morning we head along the shores of Clew Bay, with breathtaking views of the islands and Croagh Patrick, Ireland’s Holy Mountain, and continuing to the village of Leenane. This afternoon we visit Westport House, home to the Browne family for over 300 years. Afternoon tea and scones is included.

We visit Foxford Woollen Mills, where a self-guided tour recounts tales of a thriving woollen industry. We continue through the beautiful county of Sligo pausing at Mullaghmore, a holiday destination characterised by ocean and mountains, before continuing to Donegal for three nights accommodation.

A day at leisure. You may wish to visit Donegal Castle or perhaps enjoy a cruise around Donegal Bay. All the attractions for this day are within walking distance of the hotel. The costs of admissions are not included.

We drive into the magnificent scenery of the Glenveagh National Park, travelling via Dunlewy to the Atlantic Coast. At Dungloe we visit the Daniel O’Donnell Visitor Centre cost not included), before we head south through magnificent scenery to Donegal.

We travel across the border into Northern Ireland to visit the Giant’s Causeway. From here we travel along the Antrim Coast Road and continue to Belfast for overnight accommodation at the Dunadry Hotel.

We transfer to Belfast for the morning sailing to Cairnryan, and continue our homeward journey. We arrive home late evening.
