Two nights dinner bed & breakfast
Set in 23 acres of grounds, this is a charming contemporary country house hotel overlooking the historic riverside town of Stourport-on-Severn. Facilities include: Brasserie Restaurant; bar; lounge; indoor swimming pool; sauna & steam room; free Wi-Fi. No lift, however there are plenty of ground floor rooms available on request.
On our outward journey we visit the National Memorial Arboretum, the UK’s living and lasting memorial to commemorate and celebrate those who gave so much to our country. We continue to Stourport-on-Severn, and have time to relax and settle in prior to our evening meal.
A wonderful day today starts with a visit to Shrewsbury, lying in the heart of the Shropshire countryside, and one of the finest Tudor towns in England. This delightful town with its half-timbered buildings and little independent shops and tea rooms is a pleasure to explore. We enjoy a 45 minute cruise on the beautiful River Severn aboard the Sabrina passenger boat, with tea/coffee and biscuits included, and have time to explore at your leisure and obtain lunch. In the afternoon we transfer to Bridgnorth for our ride on the Severn Valley Railway to Kidderminster. There’s no better way to see the beauty of the River Severn than from one of these steam hauled trains.
After breakfast we make our way to the Black Country Living Museum. With its 26 acres of living history there’s plenty to see and do. We depart mid afternoon for the journey home, making suitable stops along the way.
