On our outward journey we take the Norfolk coastal route, calling at Wells-next-to-the-Sea, one of the most attractive towns on the North Norfolk Coast with its gentle harbour and small fishing boats, shops on Staithe Street (with not a chain store in sight) and tree lined park. From here we continue to Sheringham, a rare example of a seaside town hardly changed from a century ago, and still attracting visitors with its Norfolk charm.
By far the best way to truly appreciate the Broads is by boat, and this morning we enjoy a scenic river boat cruise through this enchanting landscape. Later we transfer to Norwich, one of the best preserved medieval cities in the country. Time at leisure in this fantastic city of heritage and culture, where around every corner you'll discover ancient and beautiful buildings along the narrow cobbled streets and lanes.
After breakfast we visit Sandringham House, the much loved country retreat of Her Majesty the Queen. Admission is included to the House, Museum and Gardens. The house is set in 24 hectares of stunning gardens, and we allow plenty of time to explore, before continuing homeward.
