Three nights dinner bed & breakfast, and one nights entertainment
Set in rural North Wales a short drive from the historic market town of Mold. Facilities include: The Orchard Restaurant; Arches Bar; Coffee Lounge; and free Wi-Fi. Porterage is included. There is no lift, however there are plenty of ground floor rooms.
On our outward journey we visit Biddulph Grange, a delightful high Victorian horticultural masterpiece full of intrigue and
surprise. On then to our hotel for our three night stay.
Our first visit today is to Plas Cadnant Hidden Gardens. This beautifully restored picturesque garden has a two acre formal Walled Garden with pool, Valley Gardens, and gorgeous herbaceous border. From here we go to Penrhyn Castle, set against the breath-taking backdrop of Snowdonia and the North Wales coast. Explore the Walled Garden, fuchsia walkways, and woodland walks, and experience not only the parts of the castle the familyguests would have seen, but also the below stairs areas.
We head for Chirk Castle, completed in 1310 during the reign of Edward I. The formal gardens cover 5.5 acres of manicured lawns, clipped yews, herbaceous borders, beautiful rose shrubs and rock gardens. This afternoon we visit Erddig, where you can explore a much loved home and 18th century formal garden with grand lawns, avenues of pleached limes and a Victorian parterre.
A leisurely departure as we begin our homeward journey, with a break in Chester.
