Holiday Itinerary

We head north for our first night’s dinner, bed and breakfast accommodation in the Perth area.

After a full Scottish breakfast we continue our journey north to Thurso, our base for the next two nights.

We make our way to John O’Groats for the ferry to Orkney, which takes just 40 minutes. The coach will be waiting at Burwick ready to drive across the Churchill Barriers. We continue along the northern coast of Scapa Flow to Stromness, surely one of Britain’s most picturesque towns, and walk through the winding streets to visit the museum. On then to the Neolithic village of Skara Brae (2,500B) which has been hidden under sand dunes, perfectly preserved, for thousands of years. Our route then takes us on a narrow tongue of land between the lochs of Harray and Stenness, followed by a two hour stop at Kirkwall the capital town of Orkney, before returning to Burwick for our return sailing.

After breakfast we depart for a leisurely drive to Ullapool, our base for the next two nights. An afternoon to relax and explore the town with its picturesque harbour and whitewashed cottages.

Today our scenic journey takes us to Inverewe Gardens, a lush tropical oasis widely regarded as one of the most beautiful places in Scotland, and where you’ll find an abundance of exotic plants and vibrant colour.

Leaving Ullapool we make our way to Inverness. This small compact city is the cultural capital of the Scottish Highlands, and boasts a number of historic buildings and a great selection of shops and eateries. We continue to the Glasgow area for dinner and overnight accommodation.

We say farewell to Scotland and commence our homeward journey, making suitable stops en route.
