Holiday Itinerary

Itinerary

MONDAY We journey south arriving at our hotel in the afternoon for our four night stay.

TUESDAY Today we visit the historic city of Canterbury. Where the skyline is dominated by the oldest cathedral in England, along with the ruins of St Augustine's Abbey and the architecture of St Martin's Church, are a UNESCO World Heritage Site. There will be time to explore the city centre with its quaint Medieval and Tudor buildings, interesting shops and selection of tea rooms and restaurants.

WEDNESDAY A scenic coastal run today, as we drive past Ramsgate to Broadstairs, a charming and nostalgic old world seaside town, sometimes referred to as the Jewel in Thanet's Crown. From here we continue to Whitstable for time as leisure. Time to take a stroll along the seafront and over to the harbour, enjoy the lovely gardens, small independent shops and twisting little side streets with quaint names like Squeeze Gut Alley!

THURSDAY This morning we make our way to Deal, possibly the prettiest seaside town in Kent, with its unspoilt seafront and wonderful collection of colourful buildings. Discover the rich nautical history of the town, explore the quirky shops and perhaps take refreshment in one of the many bars and cafes. We spend the afternoon at Walmer Castle and Gardens. Built as a coastal fortress by King Henry VIII, and later the rural retreat of, amongst others, the Duke of Wellington and the Queen Mother, the castle has much to offer the visitor, including splendid gardens, and a fascinating collection of furniture and artefacts.

FRIDAY We commence our homeward journey, with suitable stops en route.

  • Supplement for sole occupancy of a double room £120
