Holiday Itinerary

Itinerary

THURSDAY We depart from Lincolnshire and travel to Lancashire, with a suitable break along the way. Enjoy a glass of wine with dinner this evening.

FRIDAY We begin our day with a guided tour of the magnificent Samlesbury Hall, a half-timbered medieval house built in 1325 in traditional black and white. Later we make our way to Riley Green Marina to board our narrow boat for a cruise along the Leeds Liverpool Canal. During our three hour cruise we enjoy lovely countryside and nature, as well as a taste of Lancashire fare with our two course lunch on this spacious vessel, where each table has a panoramic view of the canal.

SATURDAY We travel to Bury where we can browse the world famous Bury Market. Later we enjoy a nostalgic trip on a steam train along the East Lancashire Railway from  Rawtenstall to Bury. Return to our hotel for time to enjoy a cream tea, and relax before dinner this evening.

SUNDAY A scenic journey through the Ribble Valley to Oswaldtwistle Mills shopping village. This iconic former weaving mill has over 100 retailers under one roof as well as restaurants, a craft centre and Textile and Heritage Museum. This afternoon we visit Gawthorpe Hall, a modest hall housing the North West's largest collection of portraits and a wonderful collection of intricate lace, embroidery and needlework. Enjoy a glass of wine with dinner this evening.

MONDAY We commence our homeward journey, making a suitable stop along the way.
