In the afternoon we head to Ham House, a unique 17th century treasure trove with its superb collection of paintings, furniture and textiles largely acquired 400 years ago. Outside the formal, restored 17th century gardens surround the house.
SUNDAY A short drive this morning takes us just along the road to Claremont Landscape Garden. Hidden away in the heart of Surrey this green oasis has always been a place to escape everyday life. Queen Victoria loved to relax here and the garden offers the visitor much to admire. In the afternoon we continue to Hampton Court where we include entry to the Palace and Gardens. Acquired by Henry VIII in 1520, a succession of royal occupants has made sure that the palace has a superb collection of furnishings and art. The formal 60 acre gardens include the famous maze.
MONDAY After breakfast we commence our homeward journey.
