Holiday Itinerary

THURSDAY Relax as we journey south, reaching our hotel during the afternoon. Welcome tea and coffee will be served on arrival.

FRIDAY Today we visit maritime Portsmouth, where entry to the Spinnaker Tower is included. Soaring 170 metres above the Solent, it offers amazing 350° panoramic views of the south coast and the Isle of Wight. Free time then to explore Gunwharf Quays, the Historic Dockyard, home of HMS Victory and Mary Rose, and wander around the Old Town and Spice Island, former haunt of smugglers and press gangs.

SATURDAY A lovely day out to the Isle of Wight. We sail to Fishbourne on the Isle of Wight, and make our way to Ventnor Botanic Garden in its magnificent location on the island's channel coast. Basking in the microclimate of the Undercliff, the garden is one of the great gardens of Britain, and its collection of subtropical and exotic plants is unrivalled. From here we make our way to the quintessential English village of Godshill. Explore its delightful medieval church , charming thatched-roof cottages and winding Main Street lined with traditional tearooms, before returning to Fishbourne for the return ferry.

SUNDAY This morning we visit the Tangmere Military Aviation Museum, home to an impressive display of historic aircraft and aviation memorabilia. On then to the Weald and Downland Living Museum, where you will discover rescued rural homes and buildings set in a beautiful landscape, telling the stories of those who lived and worked in them over 1,000 years.

MONDAY After breakfast we head for home, making suitable comfort stops along the way.
