Four nights dinner bed & breakfast
Boasting a superb lakeside location the Mercure Swansea offers contemporary accommodation. Facilities include: Bar and brasserie with lake view, indoor swimming pool and sauna, and complimentary Wi-Fi. There is no lift, however there are plenty of ground floor rooms available on request.
MONDAY We travel to South Wales, with suitable stops along the way.
TUESDAY Join the coach for our visit to the Royal Mint Visitor Centre and an escorted tour of the production process. This half day visit, incorporating a fascinating piece of the nation's history, at a live working factory environment, offers a very pecial visitor experience. We continue to Cardiff for an afternoon at leisure where you can explore the attractive city centre, as well as modernised Cardiff Bay with its fascinating public buildings, and perhaps visit Cardiff Castle .(Admission not included).
WEDNESDAY A morning visit to the National Botanic Garden of Wales set in the beautiful Carmarthenshire countryside and showcasing an inspiring range of themed gardens, as well as the world's largest single span glasshouse. For those who wish the coach will make the short transfer to the Maritime Quarter in Swansea for an afternoon at leisure, and when you might choose to visit the National Waterfront Museum (admission not included).
THURSDAY We make our way to Pant for our return journey on the Brecon Mountain Railway. The journey takes you high into the Brecon Beacons National Park and along the full length of the Taf Fechan Reservoir, before climbing to Torpantau, high in the Brecon Beacons. The round trip takes about an hour and a half and includes a 35 minute stop at Pontsticill where you'll find the Lakeside Café and Steam Museum. Rejoin the coach and continue to Brecon for free time to explore,and where you might enjoy visiting the Regimental Museum of the Royal Welsh . (Admission not included).
FRIDAY We depart after breakfast for our homeward journey, making suitable comfort stops en route.
