SUNDAY An early morning departure as we head to Holyhead for our sailing to Dublin, and on to The Bloomfield House Hotel, Mullingar for dinner, bed and breakfast accommodation. Welcome tea or coffee will be served on arrival.
MONDAY Continuing our journey we make our way to Bundoran our base for the next three nights. En route we visit Sligo, a pretty town nestled between majestic Benbulben Mountain to the north, and ancient Knocknarea Mountain and the Atlantic Ocean to the west. Time at leisure to explore the town, following in the footsteps of its most famous resident W.B.Yeats, before we transfer to our hotel, where tea and coffee will be served on arrival. Time to familiarise yourselves with the wonderful facilities, prior to dinner and the evening entertainment.
TUESDAY This morning we visit the highest marine cliffs in Europe, the Slieve League Cliffs, where we board a minibus for a guided tour of the cliffs. We return to our coach to make our way to Glencolmcille Folk Village, with a guided tour of the small cottages of a rural Irish village.
WEDNESDAY We make the short journey to Belleek Pottery, where we enjoy a 30 minute guided tour of Ireland's oldest pottery producer, experience the production areas and have the chance to chat with the craftspeople. We have time for a break in Donegal, before embarking on a 75 minute cruise of Donegal Bay. Enjoy a full commentary along the way, and an on-board sing-a-long musical cabaret on the return.
THURSDAY We travel to Londonderry to board the train for our journey on one of the world's great railway journeys to Coleraine. Michael Palin described the journey as one of the most beautiful in the world, so relax and enjoy the views. We re-join our coach in Coleraine and continue to the Belfast Loughshore Hotel, Carrickfergus for dinner and our final night in Ireland.
FRIDAY After breakfast we head to Belfast where we board the ferry to Cairnryan and continue homeward.
