Four nights dinner bed & breakfast
An iconic Grade II listed building in the heart of Cardiff, the Exchange has been restored to its former glory with original features preserved, and is filled with richhistory and grandeur. Facilities include: Culley’s Bar & restaurant; beautiful en suite bedroom facilities include complimentary toiletries, ironing facilities and safe deposit box. Porterage is included.
MONDAY We journey into Wales, with suitable stops en route, arriving at the Exchange Hotel for our four night stay.
TUESDAY This morning we visit Castell Coch, a fairytale castle resting on medieval foundations and the by-product of a vivid Victorian imagination. Multisensory resources allow easy exploration of this Victorian Gothic-style castle. We return to Cardiff for an afternoon at leisure, and when you may wish to visit the National Museum of Cardiff and discover spectacular art and natural history collections from across the world. Transfers will be provided for those who wish to visit, and admission is free.
WEDNESDAY We make our way to the National Botanic Gardens of Wales. The gardens are both a visitor attraction and a centre for research and conservation, and it features the world’s largest single span glasshouse. There will be time to discover the highlights which include three lakes, a Japanese garden and a bog garden, along with a double walled garden and a tropical house.
THURSDAY A day at leisure. Here in Cardiff you can enjoy the best shopping on offer in Wales. Take a stroll down St Mary Street and drop into one of the unique little arcades, or visit Cardiff’s indoor market, a grand old building crammed with interesting stalls. Maybe visit the fantastic Cardiff Castle which is right in the middle of town, steeped in history and with stunning grounds, or take a relaxing stroll in the oasis of Bute Park. Admissions are not included today.
FRIDAY We leave our hotel after breakfast to commence our homeward journey, with suitable breaks along the way.
