FRIDAY We journey outwards to Lichfield, where we have time to explore the historic streets and obtain lunch (at own expense), before we enjoy a guided tour of the cathedral, a treasured landmark which is the only medieval three spired cathedral in the UK. We continue to our hotel for our two night stay. Tea/coffee & biscuits will be served on arrival.
SATURDAY Sturdy footwear and warm waterproof clothing is recommended for this morning’s visit to Dudmaston Hall, where we can wander through the Dingle to enjoy the snowdrops, which will hopefully be at their best. Enjoy the peace and tranquillity as you take a stroll through the extensive grounds. A wonderful breath of spring! From here we transfer to the attractive Georgian town of Bewdley for our journey on board the Severn Valley Railway to Bridgnorth, where our coach will be waiting to transport us back to the hotel. The train today is expected to be operated by heritage diesel.
SUNDAY We make our way to Shrewsbury, one of the finest Tudor towns in England. This delightful town with its half-timbered buildings and little independent shops and tea rooms is a pleasure to explore. Enjoy a riverside walk, perhaps relax over a pub lunch, or maybe visit the Shrewsbury Museum and Art Gallery at the Music Hall, (admission not included), before continuing homeward.
