MONDAY We journey north into Scotland, with suitable stops en route, and enjoy welcome tea and shortbread on arrival at our hotel.
TUESDAY This morning we visit the 15th century Rosslyn Chapel, one of the most famous chapels in the world. This unique building survived the turbulent times of the Reformation, and was immortalised in Dan Brown’s novel “The Da Vinci Code”. We spend the afternoon at leisure in Edinburgh, where you are free to explore the sights.
WEDNESDAY A scenic drive today as we explore the Trossachs. We linger in the main villages of Callander, Aberfoyle and Drymen, before driving to the southern shoreline of Loch Lomond and Lomond Shores a chic, modern shopping mall. See the cityscapes of Glasgow as we return to the hotel.
THURSDAY Take in some sea air today as we take a break in Ayr on our way to nearby Dumfries House, one of Britain’s most beautiful stately homes, with sumptuous interiors, all set in two thousand acres of land. You will have exclusive access to a private room to enjoy tea/coffee and shortbread, followed by a privately guided tour of the house.
FRIDAY After breakfast we commence our homeward journey, taking a suitable break along the way.
