Hanami Cherry Blossom Time in Kent

Kent is famous for its fruit farms and Brogdale near Faversham, home of the National Fruit Collection, is a fascinating tour venue. At this time of year it has an added attraction with its blossoming cherry trees. The Japanese call this “Hanami”, and Brogdale celebrate this festival with Japanese themed exhibits and displays.

Holiday Itinerary


THURSDAY On our outward journey we visit the Wimpole Estate, a unique working estate with a mansion at its heart, where you will find plenty to captivate and inspire you. From here we continue to the Bridgewood Manor Hotel for our three night stay.

FRIDAY This morning we visit Brogdale Collections, home of the National Fruit Collection, for our special Hanami Blossom Tour. Enjoy a fascinating private guided tour of the orchard by foot, explore the Japanese Exhibition, and enjoy Japanese performances and demonstrations. From here we continue to Whitstable for an afternoon at leisure. Time to take a stroll along the seafront and over to the harbour, enjoy the lovely gardens, small independent shops, and twisting little side streets with quaint names like Squeeze Gut Alley!

SATURDAY This morning we visit the charming historic town of Royal Tunbridge Wells. On then to Great Comp Garden, one of the finest gardens to visit in Kent. This quirky garden showcases seven acres of beautiful and rare plants, an Italian Garden, romantic ruins and enchanting woodland.

SUNDAY On our return journey we visit Cambridge, home to the famous university and punting on the river Cam! The beauty of the city’s ancient centre is preserved with its medieval streets, college courts, gardens & bridges, and there are plenty of interesting shops around the historic market place.
