Romance of the Rhine & Mosel

Romance of the Rhine & Mosel

The picturesque scenery of these two famous rivers, characterised by vineyards, quaint medieval towns, castles, and of course the legendary Lorelei Rock, has made this region the epitome of romance. We are delighted to have secured accommodation at the Wagner Hotel in Kamp Bornhofen, where Andreas, our popular host, is looking forward to welcoming old friends and new to this traditional family run hotel.

Holiday Itinerary

An early morning departure for our ferry to Calais, and then on to Kamp Bornhofen where we arrive during the evening.

We visit Rudesheim, a resort famous for the Drosselgasse - a street almost completely filled with restaurants and wine taverns. You’ll have time to take a cruise through the narrow gorge past riverside villages and the Lorelei Rock, or perhaps take a ride on the popular cable car to the Niederwald monument, where you can enjoy fantastic views over the Rhine (costs not included).

Join the coach as we travel to the picturesque little town of Linz am Rhein, with colourful half-timbered houses, historic traditional building, great cafes and restaurants, and unique shops. We continue in the afternoon to the famous Deutshes Eck, or German Corner, where the Rhine and Mosel converge and we find Koblenz, one of Germany’s oldest and most beautiful towns. Take time to stroll through the old quarter, and soak up the charm amid narrow lanes, tucked away corners and delightful squares.

A day at leisure.

A great day out today alongside the River Mosel. We pass many beautiful castles and villages as we make our way to Cochem, dominated by its castle, and with picturesque cobbled streets full of speciality shops and cafes. Later we enjoy a visit to Anton Hammes Wine Cellar for a tasting.

We depart early morning for the journey back to Calais, and arrive home late evening.
