Holiday Itinerary

Itinerary

DAY 1 We travel south with suitable stops en route, and board a late afternoon ferry for the short crossing to the Isle of Wight.

DAY 2 We include a return trip on the charming Isle of Wight Steam Railway from Havenstreet, before continuing to Ryde. In addition to its expanse of sandy beach and the world’s oldest seaside pleasure pier, you’ll find a great selection of museums, galleries and shops to explore.

DAY 3 An excursion to the west of the island, taking in the spectacular views along the old military road. We pause to admire the beautiful St Agnes Church, before continuing to world-famous Needles Landmark Attraction, and one of the Isle of Wight’s most iconic sights. Perhaps visit Alum Bay Glass, the Sand Shop or the Isle of Wight Sweet Manufactory (charges may apply at each). We round off the day in Yarmouth, with its picturesque harbour, for time at leisure.

DAY 4 We journey to Cowes for a morning at leisure in this attractive and vibrant town full of independent shops. In the afternoon we visit Godshill Model Village, where the buildings are lovingly crafted out of sand and cement to ensure they weather authentically over the years.  Set in the grounds of the Old Vicarage, it is a timeless place to escape modern life, and Godshill village itself is also worth exploring if time permits.

DAY 5  May - we board a morning ferry for our return sailing, and continue homeward with suitable stops en route.

DAY 5* Aug - a day at leisure to explore Sandown. Sheltered in a beautiful bay, and famed for its long stretch of golden beach, traditional promenade and pier, you’ll find plenty here to occupy your time. Alternatively, we offer an optional excursion to Osborne House, where you can view Victoria and Albert’s private apartments, their bathing beach, and children’s play cottage for an intimate glimpse into royal family life.  Cost per person is £18 - please indicate your preference at the time of booking.

DAY 6* We board a morning ferry for our return sailing, and continue homeward with suitable stops en route.
