TUESDAY On our outward journey we head to Knaresborough, known for its iconic railway viaduct stretching across the Nidd Gorge. Perched on the cliffs above the River Nidd, its warren of medieval streets and stone staircases weave their way up and down the hill. From here we continue to the hotel for our three night stay.
NEW YEAR’S EVE A scenic drive today to blow away the cobwebs. The first stop is Pateley Bridge, an idyllic market town stretching up the hillside. We then continue on, via Grassington, to spend some time at leisure in the friendly market town of Skipton, rounding off a day of classic Yorkshire exploration. We return to the hotel for a cream tea in the afternoon. Tonight’s New Year’s Eve celebrations include a Champagne arrival, 4 course black tie gala dinner, live entertainment and a midnight toast, to help you see the new year in with style!
NEW YEAR’S DAY The day is free for you to explore the town of Harrogate. Perhaps enjoy a stroll through Valley Gardens, or take a walk down Montpellier Hill, experiencing the cosmopolitan atmosphere of the area.
FRIDAY Following breakfast, we transfer to York for some time at leisure to discover some of the city’s many attractions. Suggestions include the National Railway Museum, the City Walls, York Minster, the Shambles, and of course, the world famous Bettys Café Tea Rooms. From here, we commence our journey home mid afternoon.
