This popular hotel enjoys a level position just 200 yards from the town centre and seafront, offering a high level of hospitality and comfort. Facilities include restaurant; games room; bar & entertainments lounge with dance floor; WiFi and lift to all floors. There are five stairs to the restaurant. Porterage is included.
MONDAY Outward journey to Paignton, where we enjoy arrival tea/coffee at the hotel.
TUESDAY Today we explore Dartmoor National Park with the benefit of a knowledgeable and entertaining local guide. On our tour we will discover open moorlands, deep river valleys, a rich history and perhaps, if we’re very lucky, some rare wildlife.
WEDNESDAY We head south for a day in Dartmouth. Included is a circular cruise sailing the lower part of the River Dart where we view Bayards Cove, Kingswear and Dartmouth Castles, Britannia Royal Naval College, Sir Walter Raleigh's Boathouse, and The Estate of the late Dame Agatha Christie.
THURSDAY A morning visit to Powderham Castle, which lies in a unique setting on the banks of the River Exe. On this enchanting visit you will discover nearly 600 years of history within the walls of one of England’s oldest family homes, and our guided tour will reveal lavish rooms, secrets of the castle, and a glimpse of life below stairs. We return to Paignton for an afternoon at leisure.
FRIDAY Departing after breakfast we begin our homeward journey, making suitable stops en route.
