Three nights dinner, bed & breakfast
With a history dating back over 300 years, and an enviable location just moments from many of Harrogate’s most popular sites, the hotel offers modern amenities, and ornate dining. Facilities include The Churchill Suites; The Brasserie; Henry’s Bar and WiFi. The hotel has a lift, however there are some rooms that have 6 or 7 steps to negotiate after the lift. Porterage is included.
MONDAY On our outbound journey we visit Harewood House. Enjoy the impressive art collection, renaissance masterpieces, exquisite Thomas Chippendale furniture and beautiful interiors. If that is not enough, there are also 100 acres of award winning gardens including the renowned lakeside Bird Garden, set within the magnificent landscape created by ‘Capability’ Brown. From here we continue onwards to our hotel for a three night stay.
TUESDAY We commence the day in Grassington, widely considered one of Yorkshire’s prettiest villages, and known as the fictional market town of Darrowby in All Creatures Great & Small, before continuing to the picturesque, bustling town of Skipton, gateway to the Yorkshire Dales. We round off our day of exploration by enjoying some dramatic Dales scenery, as we take a one hour round trip on the Embsay and Bolton Abbey Steam Railway, with a delicious cream tea included.
WEDNESDAY Today we venture into the heart of the Yorkshire Dales to visit the Wensleydale Creamery, where we include a cheese making demonstration. This is a fascinating place full of history, heritage and…cheese! We then have some time to explore the pretty market town of Hawes - look out for “The Chippie” (opening hours permitting), selling deep fried Wensleydale! We return to the hotel via Ripon.
THURSDAY Some leisure time in Harrogate. Perhaps enjoy a stroll through Valley Gardens, or take a walk down Montpellier Hill, experiencing the cosmopolitan atmosphere of the area. We depart for home mid-afternoon.
