One night dinner, bed & breakfast
Located in a pleasant semi-rural setting near the Chiltern Hills, this modern hotel is ideally situated for our itinerary. Facilities include: open lobby bar & lounge; The Courtyard; indoor swimming pool; and WiFi. The hotel has no lift; rooms are located over ground and first floor.
FRIDAY Outward journey to Waddesdon Manor, a 16th century French Renaissance style chateau, built by Baron Ferdinand de Rothschild in the 1870s, and now housing a superb collection of fine art and furniture. The flamboyant gardens are a riot of colour, with ornate fountains and statues. We continue to the hotel for our overnight stay.
SATURDAY After breakfast we make our way to Blenheim Palace, home of the Duke of Marlborough and birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill. The splendour of the 2000 acres of parkland and 150 acres of formal gardens is unrivalled, and the seemingly effortless views have been successfully designed to take your breath away! We depart mid-afternoon for our homeward journey.
