MONDAY We journey south to Devon, making suitable stops en route.
TUESDAY Our first visit is to Quince Honey Farm. Wander around the Nectar Gardens, see millions of bees up close, visit the Honey Factory and get a glimpse behind the scenes at the honey production areas. Afterwards we continue to the market town of Barnstaple where you’ll find the historic Pannier Market, a heritage centre and museum.
WEDNESDAY We start the day in nearby Appledore, a quaint fishing village with an attractive maze of winding cobbled streets lined with the prettiest of pastel coloured houses. Onto Bideford; take a stroll along the quay and admire the expansive waterfront, or perhaps wander through the lanes lined with quirky shops. In the afternoon we continue to Tapeley Park Gardens, one of Devon’s best kept secrets. The walled kitchen garden is a delight with its rare greenhouse originally built in the early 1930s. Admire the Italian garden with its semi-tropical and tender plants, or perhaps walk down through the wood to the lake.
THURSDAY A morning visit to Lynton, set amongst the spectacular scenery of an area known as England’s Little Switzerland. Enjoy time at leisure to explore this small Victorian town with its selection of shops, tea-rooms and cafes. We return to Ilfracombe in the afternoon for leisure time in our delightful resort, where the rich Victorian tradition is evident in the architecture of many of the town’s buildings. On a clear day you can see Lundy Island and the Gower Peninsula.
FRIDAY We commence our journey home, with suitable stops en route.
