Four nights dinner, bed & breakfast, entertainment most evenings
Situated in the heart of Llandudno on its picturesque promenade, the hotel is classically designed but comes equipped with all the latest modern features. Facilities include restaurant; bar; and complimentary WiFi. The hotel has a lift, and porterage is included.
MONDAY Outward journey to the charming spa town of Buxton, where we take a break, before continuing to the hotel for our four night stay.
TUESDAY We journey into Anglesey to Beaumaris today, where we commence with an hour’s cruise along the Menai Straits. With informative commentary along the way, there will be ample opportunity to spot an abundance of wildlife as we pass Victorian piers, palatial manor houses and Anglesey’s very own Millionaires’ Row. We then enjoy some time at leisure in Beaumaris itself, arguably the prettiest town in Anglesey with its stunning waterfront and mountain views, and impressively long pier.
WEDNESDAY A day at leisure to explore Llandudno with its wealth of attractions, Victorian architecture and splendid scenery.
THURSDAY This morning we enjoy a narrow gauge steam train ride on the Llanberis Lake Railway, a delightful hour long journey showcasing breathtaking views of Snowdon as well as 13th century Dolbadarn Castle, and past Llanberis' twin lakes. We have time to obtain lunch in Llanberis (at own cost) before transferring to the unique and stunning Italianate village of Portmeirion, constructed between 1925 and 1976 by Sir Clough Williams-Ellis as a tribute to the atmosphere of the Mediterranean, and to show how a naturally beautiful site could be developed without being spoiled.
FRIDAY On our return journey we take a break in Chester. This beautiful city has a unique atmosphere and the compact centre is a delight to explore. From here we continue homeward.
