At the time of going to print, it is £1.20 per person per night for those sharing a twin/double room, and £2.40 per person per night for those in a single occupancy room. TUESDAY We visit Highcliffe Castle this morning, a stunning Gothic revival style Grade 1 listed cliff-top castle overlooking Christchurch Bay. Featured in the hit TV drama Mr Selfridge, and set in 14 acres of land, we are given an informative talk about the castle’s rich history, and also have a delicious cream tea in the State Dining Room, as well as free time to explore. In the afternoon we transfer to Compton Acres, recognised as one of the most important ornamental gardens in England. Explore at your leisure, the 10 acres of horticultural heaven and spectacular themed gardens.
WEDNESDAY Today we take a trip back in time to the 18th century, with a visit to Buckler's Hard in the heart of the New Forest. Once a thriving shipbuilding village, Buckler's Hard is a tranquil haven, perfect for escaping the hustle and bustle of modern life. We include admission to the historic village, maritime museum and enjoy a 30 minute cruise along the Beaulieu River. We return to the hotel via the pretty village of Brockenhurst.
THURSDAY A day at leisure in Bournemouth. Alternatively we are offering an optional excursion to Southampton for a 2 hour afternoon cruise on Steamship Shieldhall, a seagoing heritage time capsule, paying homage to steam power! It is access all areas on board with passengers encouraged to visit the Engine Room and Boiler Room and also meet the Captain on the Bridge. Ticket also includes a visit to a Southampton Museum, and a guided walk with local guide. Price is £50 per person, and is subject to minimum numbers. Please indicate your interest at the time of booking.
FRIDAY Following breakfast we commence our homeward journey, with suitable stops en route.
