Four nights dinner bed and breakfast, nightly entertainment
With picture-postcard views and charming Victorian elegance this is the perfect place to enjoy a traditional seaside holiday. Overlooking the sweeping sands of the South Bay, it is approx. a 10-15 minute walk to the centre.
Facilities include Landau Restaurant; Parlour Bar; Belmont Suite. There are no ground floor rooms, but there is a lift to all floors. There are stairs in the hotel, so level access cannot be guaranteed throughout. Porterage is included.
THURSDAY On our outward journey we take a break in the beautiful market town of Beverley, before continuing to Scarborough, for our four night stay.
FRIDAY We journey to Pickering, where we board the North York Moors Railway – sit back, relax and enjoy a nostalgic ride through the enchanting countryside before alighting at Goathland, well known from the television series ‘Heartbeat’. The heritage train station in this bracing moorland village also served as ‘Hogsmeade’ station from the early Harry Potter films. (N.B. there is a 5 minute walk to the coach park, set on a gradual incline.) We then head to Whitby for an afternoon at leisure.
SATURDAY A free day to discover the varied attractions in Scarborough. Enjoy the delightful promenade and the attractive Belvedere Gardens, take a stroll to the town centre and shops, or explore the busy little harbour.
SUNDAY An excursion to York, where we first enjoy a scenic river cruise. Follow in the wake of the Romans and Vikings, taking in the story of York from a different perspective as you escape the hustle and bustle of the city. Following this, enjoy some time at leisure to explore this compact city on foot.
MONDAY We commence our return journey via the coast, including stops at Filey & Bridlington en route.
