Holiday Itinerary

Itinerary

SUNDAY Outward journey with suitable stops en route.

MONDAY Today we commence with a visit to Buckfast Abbey, an inspirational space that is home to a community of Benedictine Monks.

June: We then continue to Buckland Abbey. The abbey, later converted into a house, combines furnished rooms with museum galleries, bringing to life the stories of seafaring adventurers Sir Richard Grenville and Sir Frances Drake. Outdoors you’ll find a walled kitchen garden, Cider House garden and wild garden as well as an impressive medieval Great Barn.

September: We continue to Totnes in the afternoon for some time at leisure.

TUESDAY A day visiting the neighbouring resorts of Paignton & Brixham, for ample time at leisure to explore these jewels of the English Riviera.

WEDNESDAY We enjoy a day at leisure to enjoy Torquay and its many attractions.

THURSDAY A morning visit to Torre Abbey - Torbay's most historic building, containing beautifully presented heritage rooms, and set within 18 acres of award-winning garden and parkland. As well as exuberant plantings, the gardens celebrate Torquay's most famous resident 'Agatha Christie' through the 'Potent Plants Garden', where you will be intrigued and surprised by the range of beautiful but sinister plants on show.  We later visit Sidmouth, an elegant seaside town that nestles beneath the majestic red cliffs of the Jurassic Coast and the hills of the glorious Sid Valley.

FRIDAY We head south for a day in Dartmouth. Included is a circular cruise sailing the lower part of the River Dart where we view Bayards Cove, Kingswear and Dartmouth Castles, Britannia Royal Naval College, Sir Walter Raleigh's Boathouse, and The Estate of the late Dame Agatha Christie.

SATURDAY We return home, with convenient stops en route.

Reduction for National Trust Members £12.50 (June only).  Membership number(s) will be required before any discounts can be applied
