SATURDAY We visit Conwy this morning, a town rich in history, with much of it still preserved. At the heart is the mighty 13th-century castle, whose walls encapsulate this remarkable medieval town. In the afternoon we enjoy the magnificent Bodnant Garden. The garden covers 80 acres and is superbly located with breathtaking views of Snowdonia. (N.B. There are some steep pathways, and sturdy footwear is recommended.) All being well, the highlight will be the spectacle of the world-famous Laburnum Arch, a 55 metre-long avenue of golden flowers created by the garden’s founder Henry Pochin in 1880, and believed to be the longest and oldest in Britain.
SUNDAY We depart the hotel and head to Liverpool, where we enjoy time at leisure in this cosmopolitan city, where the choice of museums is second to none - many of which offer free admission - as well as world class shopping and architecture to enjoy. We depart mid afternoon for our homeward journey.
