TUESDAY Today begins with a scenic drive to the charming seaside resort of Largs for the short crossing to Great Cumbrae, a small and picturesque island only 10 miles round. We include a stop at Millport, the island’s only settlement, and home to Britain’s smallest cathedral - Cathedral of the Isles - before taking the return crossing back to Largs. This afternoon, enjoy time at leisure in Troon, with its sandy beaches, beautiful views overlooking the Isle of Arran, and a bustling harbour.
WEDNESDAY We head south this morning to Culzean Castle and Country Park , perched high above the Ayrshire cliffs. Your costumed guide shares the secrets of Culzean Castle, once home to the chieftain of Clan Kennedy, an ancient Scottish family descended from Robert the Bruce. In the afternoon, we visit the Robert Burns Birthplace Museum and Burns Cottage.
THURSDAY A full day excursion to the Isle of Arran today, commencing with a visit to Brodick Castle & Garden. Dramatically set against the backdrop of Goatfell, the baronial style red sandstone castle boasts stunning views across Brodick Bay and its impressive gardens. Enjoy some free time in Brodick afterwards, before we take the return ferry back to the mainland.
FRIDAY We depart after our final Scottish breakfast, making suitable stops en route.
