Four nights dinner, bed & breakfast, 2 nights entertainment
Located on the River Towy and within walking distance of the town centre, the Ivy Bush has been sympathetically modernised whilst retaining its old world charm. Facilities include restaurant; large lounge area; and bar. There are a few steps along the corridors to access some bedrooms. Porterage is included.
THURSDAY We travel to Carmarthen, making suitable stops en route, and arrive late afternoon at the Ivy Bush Royal Hotel for our four night stay.
FRIDAY We travel west to the popular holiday resort of Tenby, where you will find old town walls, interesting little side streets to explore, and superb beaches. Following some time at leisure, we embark on a seventy five minute cruise taking in some of Pembrokeshire’s most dramatic offshore islands. Cruise the famous pirate Paul Jones’ bay, with the imposing Cathedral Caverns looming in the distance. At the base of these caverns you may be able to view thousands of resident and visiting birds including puffins, razorbills, cormorants and gannets.
SATURDAY Following a morning at leisure in Carmarthen where today is market day, we travel via St Brides Bay and Newgale Sands to St David’s, Britain’s smallest cathedral city. Enjoy time at leisure here, before re-joining the coach and returning to the hotel.
SUNDAY South today, through Kidwelly, as we journey to the picture postcard resort of Mumbles, located in Swansea Bay. This afternoon we take a short drive to the Gower Heritage Centre, where we commence our visit with a cream tea. We then enjoy a guided tour of the Heritage Centre and Mill followed by a panoramic guided tour taking in the unspoilt scenery of the Gower Peninsula.
MONDAY We depart after breakfast and commence our homeward journey.
