Four nights dinner bed & breakfast
The Royal Victoria Hotel is uniquely located close to Llanberis at the foot of Snowdon, commanding excellent views. Set within acres of gardens and woodlands, including the historic castle of Dolbadarn, it is a 10 minute walk from the town centre. Facilities include restaurant; lounge; and bar. Porterage is included.
MONDAY Outward journey to the charming spa town of Buxton, where we take a break, before continuing to the Royal Victoria Hotel for our four night stay.
TUESDAY We visit Conwy this morning, a town rich in history, with much of it still preserved. At the heart is the mighty 13th-century castle, whose walls encapsulate this remarkable medieval town. Later we enjoy a short cruise as an alternative way to view the historic medieval town and its famous castle, along with views of Snowdonia and the surrounding area.
WEDNESDAY A day at leisure in Llanberis. You may wish to take a ride on the Llanberis Lake Railway (at own cost) which is a short walk from the hotel.
THURSDAY We make our way, via Betws-y-Coed to Blaenau Ffestiniog for a journey to Porthmadog on the Ffestiniog Railway, the world’s oldest narrow gauge railway. With its comfortable carriages and historic steam engines, enjoy breathtaking scenery as the landscape unfolds like a masterpiece before your eyes on the 13.5 mile journey. We have a break in the picturesque harbour of Porthmadog, before continuing onto Criccieth, a beautiful Victorian seaside resort town in Cardigan Bay, before returning to the hotel.
FRIDAY On our return journey we take a break in Chester. This beautiful city has a unique atmosphere and the compact centre is a delight to explore. From here we continue homeward.
