Two nights dinner bed & breakfast
Set in the grounds of the famous racecourse, the hotel offers modern and comfortable accommodation. Facilities include Open Lobby restaurant, bar & lounge; and free WiFi.
FRIDAY We head to the Wimpole Estate, with an impressive mansion at its heart, set amidst acres of parkland. Explore the hall, where intimate rooms contrast with beautiful Georgian interiors; there is something to captivate and inspire all visitors. From here we make our way to the hotel for our two night stay.
SATURDAY Today we make our way to the picturesque university city of Cambridge, for a visit to Cambridge University Botanic Garden. This heritage-listed botanic garden, originally conceived by Charles Darwin's mentor and teacher, Professor John Henslow, now boasts plant collections in excess of 8,000 species from around the world, displayed within acres of beautifully landscaped gardens and a Glasshouse Range. We then enjoy some time at leisure to take in the cobbled streets, and medieval passageways of Cambridge for the rest of the afternoon.
SUNDAY We depart the hotel and head to the Nene Valley Railway, where you are free to explore the line of this charming and nostalgic preserved heritage railway with your Rover Ticket, which covers over 7 ½ miles through the picturesque surroundings of the Nene Valley, and includes five stations, a tea room and gift shop. From here we depart in the afternoon for our homeward journey.
