Two nights dinner bed & breakfast
A Victorian manor house hotel offering comfortable stylish accommodation in the heart of North Yorkshire. Facilities include Terrace and beer garden; Richardson’s restaurant and complimentary WiFi. Porterage is included.
FRIDAY On our outward journey we visit Thorp Perrow Arboretum, in the Yorkshire Dales. Home to some of the largest and rarest trees and shrubs in the country, this is widely regarded as the most important arboretum in the North of England. In addition, there is also the birds of prey and mammal centre to visit. (Sensible, weather appropriate footwear is recommended.) From here, we transfer to the hotel for our two night stay.
SATURDAY Today we visit the Black Sheep Brewery, for a glimpse behind the scenes of this historic brewery. The tour gives fascinating insight into how the beers are made and the unique processes used to create the perfect pint, including the opportunity to sample the wares in the Brewhouse. Onwards to Ripon, a cathedral city steeped in history and home to magnificent buildings and rich cultural heritage.
SUNDAY We depart the hotel and journey to York, where we first enjoy a scenic river cruise. Follow in the wake of the Romans and Vikings, taking in the story of York from a different perspective as you escape the hustle and bustle of the city. Following this, enjoy some time at leisure to explore this compact city on foot, before we depart mid afternoon and commence our homeward journey.
